CODES & CONVENTIONS OF THE TABLE OF CONTENTS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The travel magazine I chose (WDW magazine) is special since it can only be seen online through subscriptions. As of December 2018, there has not been a printed physical copy distributed. This means they can incorporate elements that print issues cannot such as hyperlinks on photos on the page that redirect you to the article they were mentioning in the picture. I, obviously, cannot add this feature into my print magazine but it is an interesting addition to a magazine that could and should be done in today's modern media. If I continue this path of creating media, I may incorporate this into those future works. WDW magazine only has one page for the table of contents, which seems fine since they managed to pin-point which articles are the most interesting/most important to read so that they do not overwhelm...

Travel Magazine Group Presentation

While looking at the group's separate magazine elements for the magazine they chose, we realized that many of the components were the same. While they all were about differing overall topics, at the core, they were strikingly similar. Through this project, I analyzed elements of magazines in my intended genre that I believe may be good to carry over into my own magazine creation. I had done the WDW Magazine, which was admittedly the most child-like out of the five in total that we analyzed. Lorenny did National Geographic [Traveler], a widely known travel magazine. The main cover line seemed to have the most enticing words to pull in their audience, such as "Trips to Change Your Life". Samantha had done  Condé Nast Traveler which looked the most sophisticated. Penelope had done 5280. It's cover had many buzzwords and symbols like plus signs that signified there was more to read. House Style Project Analysis

Viewing ten presentations on differing magazine covers and their house styles has exposed me to new lessons in what I will need to keep in mind when creating my magazine and what I will need to consider when forming presentations. While there were several formulas for creating a magazine cover that were shown, all had consistencies. The masthead was always significantly larger than the other pieces of text to signify its importance. Furthermore, I will have to consider the pros and cons of having anchorages on my cover, or to keep it focused on the graphic/photo like The New Yorker had. An important aspect is the color scheme of the cover. I must make it so that the colors reflect my main article (for instance, if it is serious, I would be using darker colors as opposed to pastels). Presentation making was, at first, challenging to grasp. When recording the audio files, we all managed to pace ourselves in our speaking so that it did not sound jumbled, messy, and unintelligible.
