Travel Magazine Group Presentation

While looking at the group's separate magazine elements for the magazine they chose, we realized that many of the components were the same. While they all were about differing overall topics, at the core, they were strikingly similar. Through this project, I analyzed elements of magazines in my intended genre that I believe may be good to carry over into my own magazine creation. I had done the WDW Magazine, which was admittedly the most child-like out of the five in total that we analyzed. Lorenny did National Geographic [Traveler], a widely known travel magazine. The main cover line seemed to have the most enticing words to pull in their audience, such as "Trips to Change Your Life". Samantha had done  Condé Nast Traveler which looked the most sophisticated. Penelope had done 5280. It's cover had many buzzwords and symbols like plus signs that signified there was more to read. WDW Magazine Table of Contents

CODES & CONVENTIONS OF THE TABLE OF CONTENTS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The travel magazine I chose (WDW magazine) is special since it can only be seen online through subscriptions. As of December 2018, there has not been a printed physical copy distributed. This means they can incorporate elements that print issues cannot such as hyperlinks on photos on the page that redirect you to the article they were mentioning in the picture. I, obviously, cannot add this feature into my print magazine but it is an interesting addition to a magazine that could and should be done in today's modern media. If I continue this path of creating media, I may incorporate this into those future works. WDW magazine only has one page for the table of contents, which seems fine since they managed to pin-point which articles are the most interesting/most important to read so that they do not overwhelm...

WDW Magazine Presentation

There were many elements in my personal research of WDW magazine that I will be keeping in mind when creating my own magazine, Kinetic Force. The most obvious would be that my cover image will be the focus of attention and there will be minimal cover lines on the front. I will think of incorporating the strip of black at the bottom of the cover with an important cover line on it. Like WDW, I plan to make my main cover line in a themed font. It will be a Halloween, chiller type of font since my magazine will be based around Halloween events in theme parks. For the table of contents, I enjoyed the geometric block-y design of the images with the article title on them for important topics but I would likely make my layout darker and will add my own twist to the overall design. I may switch out the "Also in this Issue..." section of WDW's table of contents for a layout idea I saw when creating my mood board. My feature spread will have one page with a full picture and q...
